Gold Information
Gold items are commonly marked with, but not limited to, the following markings in north America: 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, 24k. In Europe, they are commonly labeled 333, 375, 417, 583, 750, 916, or 999.
Silver Information
Silver items are commonly marked, with but not limited to, the following markings: sterling, a lion symbol/hallmark, 800, 925, 948, or 999.
Platinum Information
Platinum items are commonly marked with, but not limited to, the following markings: 850, 900, 950, 999.
Not Sure?
No markings? You can also check if an item is gold or silver with a regular magnet! If it picks up, it is not gold or silver. If it does not pick up, there is a possibility* that it is gold or silver!
*note: other metals may also not pick up from the magnet, as a result, it could be another metal other than gold or silver and may require additional testing.
